The v|100-Frequently Asked Questions
Nomination Process - An email iss sent to nearly 8,000 entrepreneurs and professionals such as attorneys, public accountants and investment bankers and other organizations who have visibility into the region’s entrepreneurial network. They have an opportunity to nominate candidates into the process. No information about the nomination process is released (i.e. nominators names, nominee’s names, specific nominations or contact information). This list of candidates represents the entrepreneur peer group.
Voting Process – The nominees are each given the opportunity to withdraw from the process at that point if they determine that the nomination was inappropriate for any reason. The remaining nominees are then asked to cast 10 online votes for their peers in the nominee pool. The votes are tabulated and the 100 individual nominees garnering the most votes are included in the final vSpring Top 100 Venture Entrepreneur list. Only the alphabetical list of the Top 100 is released to the press. No other information about the voting process is released (i.e. Voters names, rank order of the Top 100 names, specific votes or contact information).

We seek to maintain relationships with successful management teams in the IT and Biotech spaces who are capable of accepting and deploying private equity investment as they grow their businesses. vSpring has invested significantly in cultivating relationships with these entrepreneurs. As a whole, vSpring seeks to assist this group in becoming increasingly successful through direct investment and our other community-building efforts. We see the mission of the vSpring Top 100 Venture Entrepreneurs program as three-fold:
- Recognize entrepreneurial potential while increasing our visibility into this unique community
- Create opportunities among the vSpring Top 100 Entrepreneurs for collaboration, mentoring and partnering
- Increase private equity investment opportunities for vSpring limited partners
